Birthday Present from my Cousin for me to splurg on my iPhone though surprisingly, I’ve been more reluctant to spend the money than go crazy with it.

Color Blind.
So I was playing a video game and I was given two choices of presents to choose from.

Alright fair enough, a green present and a red present; lets get to choosing…

Sorry, where in the world did this Yellow Box come from?
And no, my TV has no problems showing the color Yellow as seen on the clown’s pants.
In the Present.
Walking through Crossiron mills today I couldn’t help but notice the crowds of junior high and high school kids. Just seeing them pass by brought back a nostalgic feeling; it feels just like yesterday that I was with my friends going boxing day shopping for the first time.
However, that time has past. I’m not as young as them anymore but I’m not as old as the adults either; I’m stuck in the middle, in the present with my friends.
Where we are, we see the reminders of our past and hints of our futures while we possess the best of both worlds; the freedoms of an adult matched with the immaturities of a child.

We are in the Present.
When my parents and brother came home.
That one weekend where I had to work and was unable to go out of town with them to a Christmas Party.
Upon arriving home they all told me, “Dickson, we’ve got a present for you!”
“Really?!” (This was unexpected)
Mom: “Yes, we were walking around the stores and we all saw the same thing. Your brother said that this is you, this really reminds us of you.”

A Snowboard Ornament.
I Absolutely Love It =D

Day 8: Pit Stop, the Moment(s) of Satisfaction
Satisfaction - it is the feeling one feels after being able to accomplish a set goal and is happy with it’s outcome.
A moment where to me is when you don’t care about your past mistakes anymore as well as not having any speculations as to what you want to happen in the future. Instead you are just content with living in the present moment, you have reached a state of inner peace.
It is moments like this that come after I’ve achieved my goal and my mind is blank to any other goals.
It’s not that I don’t have other goals in mind though, it’s just that this moment is like a pit stop. It is a moment where I can reflect on my own achievement; I can take in the moment, breath, feel happy about it and enjoy it before heading out again.
With all good things, they don’t last forever. This moment is of no exception as it only lasts for a short while before my other priorities and thoughts flood over the great feeling.
It is after achieving my goals and expanding my comfort zone that I really feel satisfied the most however it doesn’t take a huge event to give me satisfaction. Something as simple as working out or listening to a great song provides it as well, only it won’t be as powerful.
Either way, Satisfaction is satisfaction, it doesn’t matter what you did to obtain it.
What matters is how long you will be feeling it before you have to go out and obtain it once more.
Uncertainty.

The idea of how our generation lives with uncertainty in our everyday lives was brought to my attention in our Creativity Class.
It’s true, nothing is certain anymore.
Back in the day when you graduate from University you were guaranteed a job for the rest of your life. You could predict what a person’s life would be like day in day out if they got a degree, but not anymore…
Now we’ve got 12 year old kids being famous, the largest number of university graduates in the world, the digital revolution, people staying at a job no longer than 2 years etc.
Really, there is no way to predict what will happen in the next 10 years let alone expect what will happen tomorrow.
So if the past is already gone and the future is uncertain, then we only have the present.
So do your best to stay in the present as uncertainty clouds everything else.
This Game of Catch
Back in Grade One I always thought time moved very slowly, just thinking about leaving elementary school by grade 6 seemed so far away…. and now I’m in University. As we get older, time moves faster and will only continue to move faster like the speed of the ball in game of catch, because as we grow older, we get stronger and the ball only goes faster and faster.
So in hindsight looking at the things that have happened so quickly…. the good and the bad; it makes me wonder if I could have changed the bad if I had slowed down to pay attention to the details. If I hadn’t focused on just catching the ball but rather focused on how to catch the ball…. could things have happened for the better?
Possibly.
But unfortunately, you can’t change what’s already happened. You can’t redo the same failed catch. Our lives will only keep on moving forward faster and faster each day; so if I did not catch this opportunity when it came then it means that it is now gone behind me. I’ve missed it already for better or for worse, yet coming right at me in front (I know) will be another opportunity.
Though this time, will I catch it when it finally comes?
Well….I know I’ll hold my catcher’s mitt in front with hands wide open.
I may miss it and I may barely catch it but either way, This Game of Catch has no shortage of balls.
So why should I limit how ballsy I can be in catching it?
