Grateful #20: To My fellow Tumblrers

I just went through my archive of posts and I feel absolutely grateful and blessed to see that even though I was on a hiatus for a year, what I wrote was still being read and liked by you, my reader(s) and fellow Tumblrers who continue to be creative and expressive of yourselves.

So I’d just like to say    T H A N  K     Y O U     S O      M U  C H !!!

You have no idea how much it means for me to see this =)

PS. All Gratitude Posts will now be called “Grateful Posts”….. I’ll explain later why ;)

Gratitude # 19: Almost looking into the future.

I just realized that one of my mentors or rather one of the guys that I look up to is also a Cancer. Now whether or not you believe in Zodiac signs and horoscopes is completely up to you but these are my thoughts and my beliefs. Once I realized this even more, I found another reason to see him as a bigger role model and to listen to his advice more intently.

I’m doing this because I believe that the Zodiac signs are quite true with their depictions of people’s personalities. Yet I know that it isn’t always 100% true but that’s fine with me because if my role model has gone through just 10% of the same things I have due to my personality, then that would still be a great help.

Seeing as how he’s much older but a similar personality to me, I see him as “my future self” (to a certain extent). Sure there are some things I’d like to do differently but getting a heads up and advice about similar obstacles that we’ve faced or will face is a godsend that I am grateful for.

It’s like looking into the future, almost…..

Gratitude # 18: The helpful stranger

What allowed me to successfully enroll into the class that I had Anti-requisites for was in part due to my patience but not without the help of a stranger. After about an hour and a half being on hold and being swapped back and forth between parts of the University I finally got a hold of someone who had the power to do something.

It was a young woman on the other line and her cheerful voice definitely eased away my frustration of registration. We spoke about what could be done and within 10 mins, I was able to register my last class as if the Anti-requisites never existed but I guess that’s what she did, she was able to make them “not exist” officially.

I was beaming with excitement, happiness and gratitude towards her. She didn’t have to do this, she could have forced me to retake one of the Anti-requisites instead or she could have denied any help at all, but she didn’t and nor was she difficult to sway.

She wanted to help, me, a complete stranger, one that she only knows a voice to just like me to her and I am extremely grateful for her being there today.

I am extremely grateful to the stranger who I’ve never met nor seen except for hearing what her voice sounds like and what her name is.

Gratitude # 17: Keeping Cool.

I am very grateful that Air Conditioning was invented. Without it being a part of our cars, our shelters and our lives; the days during summer would be horrendous, not to mention how many cases of heat stroke there would be. Thank You Willis Haviland Carrier for creating the Air Conditioner.

Gratitude # 15: Hot and Cold.

For a few consecutive days in a row, my lunch consisted of a Sandwich containing cold cuts and lettuce. Now there isn’t anything wrong with eating a Sandwich…. that is until you’ve gotten to eat a nice hot meal. It doesn’t matter what it is whether its some freshly made pasta or microwaved leftovers, if its hot, it will take the place of a cold sandwich.

So being able to have the resources to obtain a nice hot meal is something that I am very grateful for.

Gratitude # 14: Water, water.

I realize that I’m like a sponge, I drink so much water that I practically soak it up on contact. So I’m very grateful that I’m able to have as much water as I want to drink without ever worrying about it at all.

Gratitude # 13: Long weekends.

I am grateful for the recent long weekend that I was able to enjoy. But more grateful for the idea of having holidays that coincide with the weekend, making it even much more enjoyable than a normal weekend. It’s amazing how just and extra day or two can make you feel so much more relaxed.

Gratitude # 12: School

I am grateful that I am able to goto School even though there are days that I think otherwise. But I really am Grateful as School not only provides new insights (from time to time), it also provides an environment that I can have fun in and spend time with my friends. While I may dislike it for a moment some days, that’s all it is, a moment and then I go back into School.

Gratitude # 11: Click of a button (or Buttons)

I am grateful that I have the internet so that with just a click of a button (or rather a few buttons) I  can find whatever I want whenever I want. We’re in the digital age and any kind of information that we need is at our fingertips and I’m very grateful for that.

Gratitude # 10: Allergy free.

I am grateful that I have no allergies so I am able to enjoy all the different types of cuisine available in the world.

Absolutely, Just go for it and have fun with it ;)

Gratitude # 9: Beautiful.

I am very grateful that I made the decision to stay sober last night when Armin Van Buuren came to play his music. Playing “Not giving up on love” and “Sanctuary” in one night? Beautiful.
